Sometimes things JUST. DON’T. FLOW.
No matter what you do, you feel stuck or blocked. Or it things begin to feel hard as you keep pushing to make shit work. I know these lulls all too well, and being a Generator energy type - I LOATHE them.
Like, they absolutely kill me.
AND, I’m in one of those phases RIGHT NOW. Ugh.
Society would have you believe that we are in a constant state of movement - where we can create, produce, make, birth every day with the same amount of energy. Society is largely made for men, and they can largely behave like this. Women on the other hand, can’t. It’s hormones. It’s science. It’s fact.
Which is cool to know, right? BUT how do you action that? Bc if you have a career or job, you’re still expected to keep up momentum. If you have a biz, there’s still the unwritten expectation. Or regardless of your work life, there’s the ingrained, silent expectation that we have been conditioned to have on ourselves.
Right now, I’m over half way through a 6 week holiday traveling around Australia. Like the perfect time to just flow, right!? RIGHT. Here I am with my stuck Generator energy AND my pre-conceived expectations of the good energy, the ideas, the time and space to CREATE.
Yet, I can’t ughhhhh 🫠
Energy + Cycles
Then, there’s your unique energy type. I’m a Generator which does work off momentum, but has pauses within - Mani Gen’s are this exemplified. Manifestors will experience an initial spark of energy and then it wanes. Projectors will absorb others energy boosts but then it can crash. And Reflectors cycle through all.
We each have our own unique cycle - which in knowing, can help how you approach the lull you’re in.
What are the options?
-
Focus on Small Tasks
Even if I have a big project I want to work on, or I had a launch planned and by changing tact it means it won’t go ahead… I switch to the small tasks. The tasks which are creative and enjoyable. The ones that don’t feel hard, and give me the yummy dopamine by ticking them off. I do admin - tidying up loose ends, emails, setting up systems. The little actions that you wouldn’t ever see through social media that keep my biz (and my life) running smoothly. I tend to those.
I also cull. This is my go to - I clear space where ever I can. Tidy or declutter the house, I declutter my email inbox, my notes folder, my Instagram DMs, saved posts and who I follow. I clear out as much unaligned space and as much clutter as I can so that when momentum picks back up, I have the clarity and the room to just GO.

Surrender to the Lull
Then, once this is done, I surrender. I stop pushing, which honestly takes A LOT in me to do. There is resistance. But what’s the alternative? Continue pushing against it, grinding away all your energy and then likely you won’t like the result of what you’ve created anyway, right? So I let go. I trust in timing over time and I let it all go.
Chip away at the easy shit, and then implement number 3!

Prioritise Alignment
And then this is the biggie. Because for divine timing to really come into play, for things to stay on track and for you to stay open to all the Universe is working on behind the scenes is this: prioritising alignment.
-
What does your body feel like doing?
-
What creative juices need flowing?
-
Where can you stir some desire?
-
Where can you cull some limitations?
So for me right now this looks like: sleeping as much as I need, spending evenings colouring in, reading my book, staying warm. If I was at home, it would look different - but that’s the key to alignment, it looks different for everyone and within different environments, seasons or stages. Only YOU know what alignment is for you.

Hopefully this helps - whether you’re in a lull rn and it’s simply validation for where you’re out, or if you’ve been in one recently wondering WTF WAS THAT… or for the next one that comes, there’s some tools to check back in with. It’s 🫠 me write it out, that’s for sure lol so THANK YOU for being my witness to that! And now…. I’m off to bowling with the babes!
Love you cutie xx
